Bold New Fishing Boat Shows its Rebellious Side
Lund 1800 Rebel XL couples value and versatility with outside-the-box engineering

New York Mills, Minn. (Dec. 18, 2013) – For over half a century, the legends at Lund Boats have done things just a little different than everyone else. They’ve earned patents for multiple fundamental hull designs, innovated radical seating and interior layouts, plus conceived many of the critical fishing features and technologies in use today. In short, they’ve gone where no other boat manufacturer has. It’s this very legacy of free-spirited thinking that has resulted in Lund’s newly redesigned 1800 Rebel XL.

New for 2014, Lund engineers have added progressive features to their entire fleet of fishing boats. And now, the legendary boat builder’s on-the-water armada includes the new Lund 1800 Rebel XL SS and 1800 Rebel XL Sport. Sporting enhanced graphics and new stunning paint colors, these sporty and spacious 18-foot rigs offer some pleasant surprises. An advanced, fully upgraded console configuration adds ergonomics and a tactical advantage; while plush new swivel seats let you concentrate on fishing and the water, rather than your spine.

“The redesigned 1800 Rebel XL is a versatile, yet formidable, fishing machine,” says lifetime Lund runner and pro angler Marty Glorvigen. “The engineers have optimized every square inch of this boat. The consoles are updated with little extras such as a smartphone holder and twin power ports. The rod lockers are wider and easier to access. Lund has even increased storage space and shifted battery placement for the perfect weight balance.”

Built on an exclusively engineered IPS hull, the 1800 Rebel XL SS and XL Sport provide big water stability and safety alongside Lund’s legendary fishability. Loaded with storage and seating, plus ample room to stretch your legs and set the hook, this is one spacious 18-foot boat that feels and fishes even bigger. Boasting a brawny 84-inch beam and 71-inch chine, the 1800 Rebel XL tames rough waters.

Other 1800 Rebel XL extras include a larger two-level, eight-foot rod locker and a massive 35-inch, 16-gallon aerated livewell. Three swivel seats and an optional rear jump seat provide even more room for the entire family, yet folds down for a large rear casting deck. Patented Sport Trak™ gunwales allow for the easy addition of rod holders and other accessories without drilling holes, while the ProTrak™ Boat Covering System safeguards the boat’s interior with its custom fit.

“The only rebellious things about this rig,” says Glorvigen, “are its abundant features and sensible pricetag—just a lot of boat for the money.”
